new toy
My trusty d-link router, which has served us well for over two and a half years now is on its last leg. Up until about a month ago, the thing was rock-solid. I never needed to touch it. Recently, however, the poor guy has been having a very hard time. I’ve had to power-cycle it daily, as it seems to lock up and refuse to pass traffic. So…today I went over lunch to Microcenter and picked up one of these. One of my co-workers picked one up about a month ago, and he’s really happy with it. It has a 200mW radio in it, which is about twice as powerful as most consumer wireless access points. I’m hoping that this will quell some of my wireless woes in the new place. It might even have the benefit of reaching out to my garage! How cool would that be?
