WMD’s

I heard on MPR this morning that one of the Marine Batallions in Fallujah found a briefcase containing several vials of Sarin Nerve Gas. W00t! I’m glad that they finally found some WMD’s. Google announced today that they have now indexed 8 Billion web pages. That’s incredible. It’s amazing to think about what’s actually going on behind that unassumming text box and the “Google Search” button.

Konfabulator

November 9th, 2004 No comments

My friend Dave Williams just referred me to a project called Konfabulator. Check it out – it’s really sweet. It installs a bunch of widgets that you can place on your desktop for things like weather, web searching, calander, clocks, etc. It has full transparency built in, and it uses anti-aliased fonts, so the eye candy factor is farily high. They also have a “workshop” application that you can use to create your own custom widgets. There’s also the added plus of the application being completely cross-platform.
