Today was good...I was up and at church for worship team rehearsal by 10:00, which went well, aside from the choir room piano desperately needing to be tuned, but that's beside the point. After that, I returned home and decided that I was going to make chili. So I headed out to Target to pick up ingredients. I returned home and had the chili simmering within an hour. This batch was pretty much the same chili that I always make, which means that I don't really use a recipe, and I throw in whatever looks good to me at that moment. A few weeks ago, I was chatting w/ Dan at work and he mentined that his wife adds bacon to their chili. I thought that sounded really good, so I threw in some bacon. When has bacon ever hurt anyone??? I also made some Corn Tomalito to go along with the chili. If you've never had Tomalito (they serve it at Chevy's), you're really missing out. Think warm, sweet, moist corn bread that you eat with a fork. Anyways, it turned out great and it complimented the chili very well. I also made homemade ginger ale today, which was a lot of fun. It turned out great - it had a light, refreshing taste. If I make it again, I'll use a tad more honey to sweeten it up a bit.
So now I'm putzing on the computer, but I don't really know why. I'm exhausted, and my call time at church tomorrow is 7:30. So maybe I should get to sleep, huh?
