Brewed! Finally!

Well - I finally did it…the batch that I intended to brew over two months ago has finally been started. So…if all goes according to plan, two months or so from now, I’ll have a bunch of Dark Raspberry Stout in the bottle. We’ll see how it turns out…
The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxed. We enjoyed a quiet Christmas Eve supper on Friday along with a candlelight service at church. Saturday, I left for Willmar around six when Meghan left for work to spend the day with my family. I stayed out there till after supper and then headed back here. We ended up going over to the Kuipers’ house for the evening, which was a great time, as we hadn’t seen them for a while.
your stout looks promising. Any idea how much raspberry you added? I’m looking for a nice big/dark beer to brew in the next couple of weeks, and this might be one both me and the girlfriend could enjoy…
At this point, I actually haven’t added any raspberry. I’m planning on buying 4 bags of frozen berries, flash pasturizing them, adding them to the secondary, and then racking on top of them. Because of adding the extra matter to the secondary, it’ll probably be necessary for me to do a short (3-4 days) tertiary to let the raspberry seeds and stuff drop out. We’ll see how that turns out :-)
