Well tonight was the 1st Logic Acquire-a-thon. For those of you who don't know, Acquire is a game that was initially released in the 1960's by 3M. Yes, our very own Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing actually *did* produce board games at one time. It's a financial-real-estate-forming-hotel-chains sort of game, and it's great fun. Since the initial release, several companies have tried to reincarnate it with newer boards, more flash colors, etc. To be honest, I've never played acquire on any board except the original 1968 revision, and that's the way I'd like to keep it. There's something novel about playing a game on a board that is 10+ years older than I am. :-)

So anyways...myself and seven other logicians gathered in our infamous bowling alley conference room this evening after work to play. Acquire can only be played by up to 6 people per board, so we had two games of 4 going. Both Mark and I own Acquire boards so the numbers worked out well. It was great fun - Mark cleaned up in our game, with myself in second place, MeghanT (not my wife Meghan) in third and JP taking up the rear. The only standings I remember from the other game was that Alana won.

All in all, it was a great night. We'll certainly do it again.
