Put the entire wall together first, with the bottom plate being pressure treated, as you said. The most commonly used attachment for bottom plates are remington shells that explode the nail through the plate and into the concrete. No adhesive is needed. You also only need 2x4s, since they're not actually exterior walls.

Keep the framed wall 1/2" from the concrete (that way you can use regular pine for the studs). The reason for putting the wall together first is that it's much more solid to pound the nails from the bottom up than toenail them in after the fact.

I can probably stop by sometime this weekend.. email/IM me your schedule and we can work out a time. I'm installing a concrete patio for M&R this weekend as well (pouring next week, weather dependent).

Yeah - when I'm at work, I use a "natural" keyboard all the time, but at home, I use the laptop keyboard. I've had the laptop for a year and a half now, so it's about time for the keyboard to go.

Thanks for the offer on the basement...I'll surely take you up on it. This weekend, I'm hoping to get the concrete walls sealed and the bottom sill plates down. Word on the street is that I should use pressure treated 2x6's for that, and they should be attached w/ construction adhesive and a few concrete nails/screws. Does that sound right?

Are you running a separate keyboard? That may prolong the life of it and make it more comfortable to use...

Let me know if you want another person to bounce your plan & ideas off of regarding your basement. That's exciting that it's about to start!
