Two companies that all tech-geeks love to hate will soon be merging.

**sarcasm** That’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time.

P.S. Two posts in a day…rather unorthodox for me :-)

From the article: “…and the complementary functionality of PDF and Flash…”

Hmm, they seem to do the same thing in my mind… slow down, add complexity, and require plugins for browsing that probably otherwise doesn’t need it… :-\

Okay, so maybe tax forms are an exception.

Yeah – I detest flash. If you ask me, there are very few legit places on the web where it should be used. Acrobat, on the other hand, isn’t that bad, once you use Ar-Speedup to disable a bunch of plugins. Once I did that, my Acrobat startup time went from ~20 seconds to about 3 seconds.

FlashBlock is a really cool Firefox extension. It’s amazing how much CPU some web pages chew up with flash that just sorta goes away…

Yah – I used flashblock for a while, but I opted instead for the more general-purpose adblock.

I use adblock and flashblock… the best of both world, IMO.
