Gotta Love Top40 Music

…and particularly the band everyone loves to hate: Nickelback. Some guy out on the SA forums took two of their hits and mixed them down into one mp3. One of their songs plays in the right channel and one in the left. Normally, doing this with two songs would produce something that is completely un-listenable. Not so with Nickelback. The songs are in the same key, have the same tempo, and use the same chord changes. I really don’t need to say any more – you just have to listen to see how ridiculous and perhaps uncreative these guys are.

Edit…I went out to the iTunes Music Store and listened to the samples for these two songs just to verify that they hadn’t been altered…nope tempo/key/etc are *exactly* the same. Funny stuff.

That is absolutely un-fricken-believable!!! I’m not sure they could have planned it that well if they tried!

As a semi-retired musician that has done a little studio work – about the only way you could achieve that level of accuracy would be to have one song playing in your ear while recording the other.

They are even the exact same length. Wow.

Incredible! They must use a click track – as the song never go out of phase.

I wonder if they use a copy – modify – paste technique to compose.

Maybe they meant for this to be discovered. Hhmmm.

U gotta try the same thing with a couple of Brittney’s hits.

Try it with “Hit me baby one more time”, and “Oops I did it again” – choruses are identical.

No – I’m not a fan – I saw two female comedians sing these songs together as part of a comedy routine.

    Too funny!
