That I have a serious issue with this:

The Inefficiency of Being Too Curious

I need to work on that. Perhaps my 17 default tabs in firefox are testament to this.

I think it really depends what the point of the activity is. For example his take on email. It sounds like someone who hasn’t gotten to the point where email is used for conversations that would have previously (before email) been done by phone or in person. Within groups where people are comfortable enough with email, it’s a big time saver as it allows bunching up replies between other tasks and communicating with groups and reclaiming what would be slack time in meetings or trying to coordinate a phone call (or get back on task after being interrupted by one) with doing work. With that model the person checking email only once a day will not get their opinion considered or be missing information those that check several times a day will have. Of course that requires differentiating types of email and handling differently based on type and priority (what’s quick and conversational vs requiring lots of thought), and some people may find it easier to check less often (generally the same type who like the phone more than email :).
