We’re filed!
Let the record show that I just filed my 2005 tax return – the earliest I’ve ever filed! My refund is a bit higher than I’d like, so I’ll probably make a few W-4 adjustments for the 2006 tax year. No sense in giving the government any larger of an interest-free loan than I need to. Has anyone else out there filed already?

I did last Sunday, probably the earliest I’ve filed in many years… I agree on the W-4 stuff. What’s always annoyed me is that they never emphasize it was your money to start with, and you didn’t have to give it to them. But if you withhold significantly less than you should and don’t make quarterly payments, they add penalties.
That’s what I’m going to be doing while I’m home for “reading week” (spring break).
Have I filed already? Hehe… if I filed my tax return now, what would I use April 14th for?
April 14th? You’re an early bird, Jed.. what about the 15th? There’s a reason Minneapolis’s post office is open until 8pm.. hehe
Actually, as Anne said, we filed a couple of weeks ago. Had our biggest return ever, despite upping the exemptions on our W4s mid-year. This year will be wild, since we won’t pay taxes.. (a definite blessing)
