Call it a late New Year’s resolution

March 10th, 2007 Leave a comment Go to comments

Both Meghan and I have realized recently that we’ve been tending to spend time in the evenings on our computers instead of doing more intellectually-stimulating activities like, say, reading. We’ve agreed with each other that we’ll try to encourage each other to spend time with our respective noses in books instead of browsing teh intarweb. So…following in the footsteps of Mr. Anderson and Ms. Bergstrom, and as a way to keep myself accountable to this goal, I’ve decided to make a list of what I read during 2007. I’ve started a separate page for the list. It’s available here:

Reading List ’07

Welcome to the club, my friend.

Not to be totally late to the party or anything (I’ve gotten terrible at checking blogs frequently)… I know someone who also proposed doing the 50 books in 2007 project around the new year, which I thought I’d undertake, too. Also, in the last year or so, I’ve become totally hooked on audiobooks (I usually rip them onto my iPod and listen to them in the car or at work), which I’ve decided count towards my goal. So far I’m up to 19 for the year, for which I am *extremely* impressed with myself! I’ve been keeping track of the books I’ve read (and those coming up on my to-read list) on LibraryThing.com. A lot of fluff and re-reads, but at least it is reading!
